• keep the delete control enabled for the most recent stage, even when matches exist
• allow the backend to remove that final generated stage and cascade its matches
• add frontend and backend coverage

Validation

• npm test -- --watch=false --include=src/app/app.spec.ts
• just build-frontend
• go test ./...
